Munwon LIM is a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) since 2025. She also serves as a research fellow at the Office of Strategic R&D Planning (OSP) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) of Korea.

She previously worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, where she contributed to several national R&D projects and international collaborations.

Her research focuses on AI-based anomaly detection for manufacturing systems, prognostics and health management (PHM) of large-scale sensor data, and data-driven approaches to autonomous manufacturing.

During her doctoral studies at Hanyang University, she served as the research director for a project funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), which aimed to develop an optimal predictive maintenance (PdM) framework for modular production systems. She also received support for global academic activities from the Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology (WISET), reflecting her dedication to fostering international collaboration.

Her research achievements were recognized with the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME). Additionally, she was named an Outstanding Graduate Student for her research accomplishments by the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation of Hanyang University in 2020, 2022, and 2023.
